Niggling thought of the day:
Why are doctors saying that this week GMC made patients less safe?
Why were patients still safe when #BawaGarba got convicted of gross negligent manslaughter, but we're not now she's been struck off?
Does loss of career hold more fear than conviction?
I think systemic failures were clearly a factor and should've been part of the proceedings, but I'm being told her personal failings were extreme enough to warrant the charge despite that fact. Still don't get the timing of reaction.

I haven't really been following it - but I'm getting the impression, that she recorded things in her 'reflections on her practice' [which junior doctors are obliged to do] that 'the GMC then used 'against her'': I think that is what the 'current reaction' is about?

It's one of the multiple elements getting much attention, yes. But if you've just committed gross negligent manslaughter, then you're already guilty. So she could choose to remain silent, or give her side. Just like any of us. But I fear consultant covered his arse via this.
