"Honesty is one of the sacred pillars of medicine. For without honesty trust confidentiality & mutual respect cannot survive. Indeed the doctor-patient relationship cannot survive & will vanish & disintegrate into our despairing & starless ill-fated night"https://www.kevinmd.com/blog/2018/01/doctor-patient-relationships-die-without-one-thing.html …

>> "What are we to make of an institution that doesn’t even feel the need to fully disclose the pathological findings of one’s own case?" Like turning over (incriminating) pg1, putting thumb over (incriminating) date & holding path report up, refusing to let it go? Just me then?

Yes, these were my thoughts too today. The trust between doctor and patient is being eroded to the point of being non-existent for many.

A lifetime's worth of trust disappeared in a heartbeat for me. Never to return. There are some exceptional, honest doctors out there - but none of them come with a label - so distinguishing the between which is in which group, is usually impossible until it's too late.

I am sorry, John. What is interesting about the drug dependence and iatrogenic harm issue is that all doctors are capable to lying to their patients if it suits their purpose ... and they are instructed to do so from on high.

It's something that many of us find hard to grasp. We seek to understand, but it's so far beyond what we regard as acceptable, it's difficult to reconcile with a 'caring' profession.https://twitter.com/C7RKY/status/954828238387400706 …

I was thinking of Milgram .. it is exactly that ... the doctors are like puppets on a string dancing to the tune of their masters ....

I can't pretend it's got any more comforting the more I've dug, Fiona. I honestly don't look at the world through quite the same pair of eyes any more.

Well it is the same here ... it started off with a visit to a GP ... now I know there is a very sinister orchestrated cover-up stretching back decades and going right to the heart of the British Government.

I can't even feign shock any more. It almost doesn't matter where you start digging, a rich vein of corruption never seems to be far below the surface.
