Tried 6 different statins before I had one without side effects, some caused dreadful pain. This one I have now is side effect free

I had severe pain from the statin they put me on in 2016 Was told it wasn't the statin and absolutely impossible for the statin to be causing the pain dispite pain being recognised side effect I stopped taking the statin and the pain disappeared Dr will swear blind unconnected

They may not have known of METEOR trial. Pharma industry have a responsibility here in not glorifying their product and hiding data. You will be aware of this letter, see page 2 in particular https://www.nice.org.uk/Media/Default/News/NICE-statin-letter.pdf … .

That's fascinating. There's something very jarring about that placebo data. What was actually in that placebo, I wonder?

Usually an inert tablet with a bit of starch in it. They usually make them look like the 'active' tablets

Is there likely to be a published list of ingredients for those placebos somewhere? Or is that in the hidden data? I've heard suggestion from some (which I've never managed to verify) that non-active ingredients may be included in placebos. Is that a poss discussion point here?
