Nothing daft in having a flu jab. Problem is many NHS staff just object to being managed.https://twitter.com/C7RKY/status/950474369402331138 …
I think everyone ought to object to being managed, when such management involves imposing on one's absolute autonomy. Something of a soapbox subject for me, that one! As to the value of having the flu jab.. let's just say I'm glad I have autonomy. :)

Not when it potentially impacts on patients’ health and their care (staff absence). We accept Hep B vac . Flu vac may help. Won’t harm.

That's one view. Here's another; "At best, vaccines may only be effective against influenza A and B, which represent about 10% of all circulating viruses" "Vaccination shows no appreciable effect on working days lost or hospitalisation"http://www.cochrane.org/CD001269/ARI_vaccines-to-prevent-influenza-in-healthy-adults …
-
There is varying evidence I accept but not any that shows harm. https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm6238a2.htm?s_cid=mm6238a2_w …

So I would be happy to be vaccinated and happy that our leaders expect me to be.

To be more accurate, there is no evidence of harm among the 50% of studies that gets published > http://www.alltrials.net/find-out-more/why-this-matters/ … I guess all the people who get harmed must've been in the other 50%? https://www.theguardian.com/science/2017/feb/09/ministers-lose-fight-to-stop-payouts-in-swine-flu-jab-narcolepsy-cases … Your leaders may well expect, but they must never demand, imho.
-
Do you accept there is a serious issue with Drs in particular objecting to being managed and this is but one symptom of that.
-
From what I've learned over the years, I'd be amazed if that didn't play some part, sure. Lord knows I've seen significantly more serious guidelines being ignored than flu vaccine 'recommendations'!
-
I don’t deny that!
