David, can you say hand on heart that Dr's don't know of colleagues whose practice is poor yet do nothing about it? Of course some investigations will rightly side with clinicians but don't pretend that all investigations are candid!

This is the reason I didn't trust the complaints procedure 2010.I was right not to.
-
Seems most would be right not to trust, with the benefit of hindsight. But few people know that at the time, even if instinct is screaming in your ear. When we are vulnerable, we sometimes have little choice but to trust.
-
Agree. We were vulnerable but unclear about process, its very long and drawn out for most/ very unfair. Very clear now . With the benefit of hindsight we would make very different choices .
-
Oh me too. If I'd known then what I know now, none of it would've happened. Or at least several people would've been convicted for it if it had.
-
All this during grieving very difficult process/time. I really thought on this, things might have changed .

I firmly believe trusts take full advantage of the fact that pts/families are reeling with emotion and can barely function. This is the time when most of the cover up activity seems to go on - before we even know we should be looking, or are in any fit state to be doing so.
-
Eh? They wouldn't even let your family or your MP see the report? How did they justify that??
-
I wasn't next of kin, but was main point of contact, after insisting, I was given a copy . The report was going to be used for learning lessons .

Yep particularly as he's hoping to become President of the Royal College of Physicians. Gd engagement should be an essential criteria not relentless antagonism.
-
You'd think the latter would be reason to rule a candidate out in most walks of life. But that's from a patient perspective and of course, we wont be the ones voting.
