Personally I don’t recognise those ruses but others may. I alter about 1 in 20 pre op. Juniors are better at thinking of and listing complications than me. Most of the real consent process 4 me occurs in clinic. Some minor repeat ops I verbally consent for only.
I appreciate that Mike. Those who would never consider doing such a thing are always shocked at the mere suggestion. And you're right - even the law recognises it's the discussion, not the form, that counts. Forms matter to lawyers though.
It is all about fully informed consent. Signature in a form seen as evidence.
