Certainly true, time is used as a weapon. Very sad to see many bereaved unsupported and made to wait for years for the truth. Unacceptable.
Oh no. That doesn't make life any easier, does it? Means the GMC represents no threat for starters.

I tried years ago to get GMC to investigate. They asked the Trust, they said no issue, so he worked on unchallenged
-
And that is pretty much the story of GMC from every patient/family perspective. Unless they're from abroad or a whistleblower. Same for PHSO - they just take the trust's word.
-
Had no involvement with GMC, so know very little about them.
-
You've not missed much, tbh. Think same end result, different badge. :)

Still lots of people making positive changes, needed for people who will continue to use service.
-
The changes we need have been clear since Francis recommended them tbh. Single regulator, (no more 'not in our remit' brush-offs), and an individual statutory duty of candour. Until we sort those out & secure med records, changes will only ever be superficial.
-
Single regulator makes sense. Not sure why Health minister hasn't implemented this and legal duty of candour.
-
You're not alone in wondering that. Maybe because that might bring accountability and in turn allow the public to understand the true state of the UK health service? Who knows...
