Clinicians often have very different opinions ,so do families . To those dedicated to finding solutions to the many issues raised repeatedly, there will be/are solutions. More care and respect to those bereaved by failings could be addressed swiftly and also WB protection.

Speed is of the essence, I agree. Further patients are placed in harms way by every single day of foot-dragging, obfuscation and lies. Defensive, tactical delay has to be addressed as part of all this.

Certainly true, time is used as a weapon. Very sad to see many bereaved unsupported and made to wait for years for the truth. Unacceptable.

It's part of the tactics, as I understand. Forget where it appeared now, but there was acknowledgement re if you drag it on for long enough, complainants will walk away. So they do.

Yes. And yet so many families have stated they just want some honesty and the chance to make sure mistakes are not made again and again.

It is also not always a hierarchy. It can be peer loyalty that replaces patient advocacy.

True. Plus the alternative of telling the truth tends to have career ending consequences. Then how does one pay off one's £50k+ student loans? Silence is bought before they even see a patient.
