Of course views all mine. All without prejudice. Just a regular chap after all. Oh...and RT's may equally imply ridicule as endorsement.

The surgeon who signed patients’ livers was silly, not criminal. The law is an asshttps://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/dec/15/doctor-signed-patients-livers-law-courts?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other …

no. The law clearly states what criminal assault is & drs aren’t exempt.

So what are your views ? He signed it. Shouldn’t have done that. But we need balance in debate.

my tweet was perfectly clear. I wldnt accept silliness as a defence to assault on a medical professional. If you cannot see why a lay person tajes such a dim view there is no debate

Issue is not the law, so much as this action being an indicator that questions the professional's professionalism. Poor judgement in one area might indicate poor judgement in others.

for me it really is the law. Which was broken with, apparently, a sense of absolute entitlement

I entirely agree. This is hardly new. "Case law (common law) has established that touching a pt without valid consent may constitute the civil or criminal offence of battery" https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/138296/dh_103653__1_.pdf …
