Is that so? I'd not heard of him before this. Given the attitude on display in his piece, I can't say the thought entirely surprises me.

I don't see any reference to it there. This caught my eye though: "Of course doctors need regulating, but they need to be trusted as well" > Regulated environments don't rely on trust. That's why they're regulated. This guy seems a right piece of work.

As much as I don't want to diminish that incident, (and I really don't), it does seem rather dwarfed by this apparent abhorrent attempt to influence a wide audience of people into accepting informed consent as overrated and 'silly'. I passionately disagree with him.
