Agree. Decades of persistent NHS Secretary of State/Regulatory failings have led to people's emotions imploding/exploding in the face of ignored corruption malpractice obfuscation and injustice at every turn. No one leading the NHS Nationally at present & attempts to,are failing.

Quite. This latest 'no blame' push is just oil on the fire, imho. Saying candour will suffer & predicting more cover-ups when they are already so rife, is like threatenening to continue flogging a dead horse you've already flogged to death.

No blame meaning no scapegoating is good but it also lets off those who are really to blame.

Oh I agree. I'm trying to be as pragmatic as I can here. But the cover-ups must stop, one way or another. I honestly don't think doctors truly appreciate yet just how abhorrent their lies are to patients.https://twitter.com/c7rky/status/936982437468532736 …

John Clarke @C7RKYReplying to @JamesTitcombe @curetheNHS1. Individual statutory duty of candour - as originally demanded. 2. Immunity from prosecution for (non-reckless) medical errors, on condition of full, candid disclosure of all info within set time period. 3. Prosecute fully every case of non-disclosure. > Could this work?1 reply 1 retweet 0 likes -
@JamesTitcombe@curetheNHS I think they do know, they just frame it as disgruntled or similar to discard it.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

In some, I'm sure you're right. But there's some genuine denial out there too, I'd say. Others appear to believe themselves worthy of protection, making an exceptionalism-like argument re the profession. A belief like that can self-justify a lot of wrongs, imho.

I know what you mean. But of course that would involve genuine candour and the actual learning of lessons. We're clearly not there just yet, sadly.
