'Never event' left nurse with nerve damage to her foot as she underwent breast cancer surgery https://www.leighday.co.uk/News/News-2016/January-2016/Never-event-left-nurse-with-nerve-damage-to-her-fo …
@White_Suz @LeighDayClinNeg Appreciated - thank you. So is that 'wrong site surgery' of sorts, or some other categorisation of Never Event?

@C7RKY@LeighDayClinNeg surgery was many hours she ended up with dropped foot & nerve damage. Case was in private sector.Fundamental stuff. -
@White_Suz@LeighDayClinNeg Private sector too? That's interesting. Was just wondering where case would sit on this: https://www.england.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/never-evnts-list-15-16.pdf … -
@C7RKY@LeighDayClinNeg doesn't appear to be a category it could go under, but we need to add one I think! -
@White_Suz@LeighDayClinNeg No, that was what was making me scratch my head. I'm familiar with Never Events, but your client case is unusual -
@C7RKY@LeighDayClinNeg completely unnecessary injury, which caused my client more pain, stress & discomfort than major surgery she underwent. -
@White_Suz@LeighDayClinNeg I totally agree. Such a basic error, whether it fits neatly into one of their Never Event categories or not.
