1/2 So let me get this right @NHSEngland... you're happy to support preventing families overriding patient consent >
http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/health-news/hundreds-of-bereaved-families-blocking-organ-donation-according-to-nhs-organ-donor-consent-a6814636.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter …
@majorsixth @katemasters67 @NHSEngland @NHSOrganDonor I'd wager the no. of pts at risk from consent fraud DAILY would dwarf this issue, tbh.

@C7RKY <> it is not something I have thought about. One assumes medical ethics forbids it. Though I think you are right in assuming misuse -
@majorsixth Medical ethics aren't what I once thought they were: non-negotiable. So whilst I don't assume misuse, I never rule it out either -
@C7RKY@majorsixth interesting that no one has mention the process.eg trained negotiator btwn family and doctors? -
@retiredbrain@majorsixth A trained negotiator for what purpose Andrea? Not sure I follow that one? To do with the consent process somehow? -
@C7RKY@majorsixth am assuming there is a psych/trained person family and or doctors can talk to if process in difficulty? -
@retiredbrain@majorsixth Agree with your thinking, but wd it require doctors to identify process as being in difficulty? Because they won't -
@C7RKY@majorsixth some Drs hv difficulty accepting they are 'not the boss of me, even when I'm dead', a small matter of ego,&mistaken power -
@retiredbrain@majorsixth Shan't pretend I can't relate to that last bit! :) Do these trained staff exist now, or is that your suggestion? - 9 more replies
