@C7RKY closed culture consequence of years of politically motivated change costing £Ms rather than focus on service investment & improvement -
@Lamourna5 Reputation is all they truly value. There's never a shortage of funds when it comes to hiring lawyers to defend themselves, imho. -
@C7RKY not helped by the NHS Litigation Authority adding another party to the mix, multiple players means accountability lines fragmented -
@Lamourna5 NHSLA also have an inordinate defecit of unpaid claims, I believe?@Jarmann knows more about that subject than I, though. -
I heard NHSLA has ~£26b unpaid claims. It pays £1+b/yr - less to high HSMR trusts (morbidity cost more than mortality?).

@Jarmann@Lamourna5 Thanks Brian. Interesting disparity in moridity/mortality costs. So financially, it seems better for trusts if pt dies? -
It seems that could be the case, based on negative association between Trust NHSLA litigation payment rate and HSMRs.

@Jarmann@Lamourna5 That's an astonishingly perverse financial incentive, of sorts, for cash-strapped trusts? Doesn't scream pt safety to me - 13 more replies
