@MatSilk @peterwalker99 Well they took her to court for refusing to accept their treatment. Just for disagreeing? She wasn't mentally ill.

@MatSilk@peterwalker99 Although my comment was more generic than just this case. I'm sure we all know of examples where MHA has been abused -
@C7RKY@peterwalker99 Interesting dichotomy of views re diagnosis IMO - 1) decision to treat medically, 2) decision to commit (as inpatient)

@C7RKY@peterwalker99 Surely it's a reasonable and necessary step to establish legality? -
@MatSilk@peterwalker99 Depends on your perspective Matt. When you distrust doctors, you're never keen to allow them to override consent. -
@C7RKY@peterwalker99 Ah, well, yes - quite. Though here the court decides, not the doctors? -
@MatSilk@peterwalker99 Indeed, but from this side of the fence you quickly learn to distrust the legal process & bias in favour of docs too -
@C7RKY@peterwalker99 That's a pretty confusing position to be in if you ever get sick :-) -
@MatSilk@peterwalker99 I can't begin to tell you the fear it creates. I go nowhere near a doctor now unless I'll die if I don't. Seriously. -
@C7RKY@MatSilk@peterwalker99 same here. GP okay, but never hospital except for fluids & I double check them! -
@Harryshelper@C7RKY@peterwalker99 Why GP? Different environment? - 6 more replies
