@C7RKY @peterwalker99 Her right to choose, surely? Where to draw the line between "unusual" and "unwell" v.fine?
@MatSilk @peterwalker99 That's exactly the distinction which is open to abuse Matt. And sadly, is abused all too often when convenient, imho
@C7RKY @peterwalker99 Where was the abuse here though? No reason why medical team looking after patient would want to discourage treatment
@MatSilk @peterwalker99 Well they took her to court for refusing to accept their treatment. Just for disagreeing? She wasn't mentally ill.
@MatSilk @peterwalker99 Although my comment was more generic than just this case. I'm sure we all know of examples where MHA has been abused
@C7RKY @peterwalker99 Interesting dichotomy of views re diagnosis IMO - 1) decision to treat medically, 2) decision to commit (as inpatient)
@C7RKY makes some very important points and opens a thought process I hope will continue..do doctors use MCA patient's & own views differ?
@katemasters67 Anecdotally, I'd say yes. 'Do as I say, or you must be crazy & I'll force you' is about as abusive & as it gets, in my book.
@C7RKY I have heard that too. In pretty much those words.
@katemasters67 I'd flip, if I ever heard those words being said to me. Prob giving them the excuse they needed, but I would anyway.
@C7RKY i would call a lawyer. Straight away. And they'd have to peel me away from my relative's side.
@helliewm @katemasters67 Have you a link to that please Helen? I'd be interested to read that one. Thanks...
