"1 in 20 of all the children in England were referred to social services last year alone" Don't tell me that's normal http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/11681780/One-in-20-children-referred-to-social-workers-in-a-single-year.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter …
@drkimholt It's certainly a complex picture, which has been allowed to fester for far too long. Wonder how many 'risk of future harm' cases?

@drkimholt Plus, I don't think it's as clear cut these days - have to weigh the risk of the state against the risk of the parents, frankly. -
@C7RKY the Family courts are becoming more transparent so that the public can understand better the reality. Decisions are not easy. -
@drkimholt That's just 1 critically flawed aspect of the state system tho, for me. Esp with dodgy experts thrown in. Risk just begins there. -
@C7RKY unless you work in the system too easy to believe what you read in the tabloids. Look at Baby P how wrong they got it#patientsafety -
@drkimholt I'd never form an opinion based on the tabloids. Baby P was terrible but I'd wager they get it wrong the other way more often tbh -
@C7RKY unless you know the facts too easy to be manipulated into thinking one way or another. Baby P dreadful example of that. -
@drkimholt I'd agree. Once you realise such an important system can make errors, then it opens up the possibility for errors of all types.
