Of course views all mine. All without prejudice. Just a regular chap after all. Oh...and RT's may equally imply ridicule as endorsement.

@Cleverestcookie Now that, I like. :) I just wish the new IT systems didn't all seem to keep ducking electronic input for consent forms now.

@C7RKY how do you record patient's 'signature' if form is electronic though?

@Cleverestcookie You don't. Print it off for signature, then scan it back in. But important part is, input gets stored electronically then.

@Cleverestcookie Appreciated. My suggestion doesn't change that. It's about how you produce what you're going to scan. Paper, or electronic?

@C7RKY was an electronic template in the end. Doesn't matter once it's scanned though?? Scanned copy is legally acceptable as the document.

@Cleverestcookie It matters a whole lot, if the scanning doesn't take place at the time of signature, imho. Paper consent is open to abuse.

@C7RKY ok but what about the patient's copy? That could be corroborating or otherwise. No reason why electronic shouldn't be used as easy>>

@Cleverestcookie That assumes pt gets their copy. In v large % of cases, they aren't given one. That much, I do know. Electronic is v easy >

@Cleverestcookie yet if it's so easy, it begs the question; why do they miss it out? Even on the latest systems? >https://twitter.com/C7RKY/status/498605784385994752 …

@my_eHospital @KeithSwinburne Thank you. So consent forms aren't included at all? Why not, may I ask? I think that's critical, personally.

@C7RKY well, I don't usually go for the conspiracy theory option. I usually find things are down to incompetence and people aren't clever.

@C7RKY so the conspiracy theory is of those manipulating systems to their advantage to protect them from errors and sub-optimal practice
