Of course views all mine. All without prejudice. Just a regular chap after all. Oh...and RT's may equally imply ridicule as endorsement.

.@RoyLilley banging drum about inspection saying you can't inspect quality in to a system. Maybe so, that's not job of CQC tho. #RCNCongress

@ShaunLintern @RoyLilley I think CQC's remit is v 'muddled' right now. Makes inspections ineffective at best, but need outside audit still.

@C7RKY @RoyLilley Muddled how? The new regime of inspection seems clear and far stronger than how it was a few years ago under Bower.

@ShaunLintern @RoyLilley Not at all. It's a complete mess. 'Remit' limits powers granted in H&SC Act to the point of neutering inspections.

@C7RKY @RoyLilley How so? We've seen detailed inspections and inspections in response to concerns raised by staff highlighting problems.

@ShaunLintern @RoyLilley For reasons unclear, CQC seem to self-limit, to judging quality on day of visit ONLY. Assert they can't look at >

@ShaunLintern @RoyLilley pt files if not in use on that day, so reduced to catching staff 'in the act'. If they don't all concerns forgotten

@C7RKY @ShaunLintern @RoyLilley sets CQC up to fail with "can't inspect it in" mantra. True, but you can weed out the rot. If not CQC, what?

@jtweeterson @ShaunLintern @RoyLilley Split regulation is the problem. Large gaps between remits is dangerous. Needs a single regulator imho

@C7RKY @jtweeterson @RoyLilley On this we totally agree. As did Francis. But was very quickly rejected by Gov and both Monitor and CQC.
