£25 patient charge for an appointment? http://www.pulsetoday.co.uk/political/political-news/charge-up-to-25-for-a-gp-visit-says-influential-think-tank/20006337.article … @kingsfund_lib
@bill_russell3 Didn't say GPs were overpaid Bill. Only that I've personally overpaid relative to my use. I think a lot gets 'lost' en route.

@C7RKY Nope! Its a per head income per practice population. PS NI just goes into one big tax pot along with all the other taxes etc.. -
@bill_russell3 What are you saying 'nope' to? Not sure I follow. Regardless of where it goes, that's what the public are led to believe. -
@C7RKY 'No' to 'lost on route'. Not sure where its lost from? Partners get income from funds left after staff costs & other espenses -
@bill_russell3 Lost, as in NI paid by your registered patients, that doesn't quite seem manage to reach healthcare. Too many 'middle men'. -
@C7RKY As I tweeted earlier it is a common mistake to say that NI is hypothecated for NHS. It goes in the tax pot along with income tax etc -
@bill_russell3 Appreciated, but that's what NI is loosely associated with in the minds of the public. Whether it's actually that way, or not

@C7RKY GP management costs are tiny. Your lack of use, (& mine) means others get the benefit of more consultations. -
@bill_russell3 And they're welcome to them (happy to contribute). But not happy to pay a 2nd time if I do need an appointment. Why should I? -
@C7RKY I agree. Most GPs would agree! The £10 proposal is rubbish idea. Total lunacy! Better to put up income tax & fund NHS better. -
@bill_russell3 I agree. Take funding from somewhere else if necessary & start properly investigating fraud, rather than pretending to look.
