Once a child is in a "meltdown", they will be using their "limbic thinking"; they will not be able to respond to your immediate requests.
@Claire__Ryan Cons paediatrician & speech therapy mainly. Sensory assessment was a joke & taught us nothing. Private OT assessment soon tho.

@C7RKY You can also ask adults with autism who could give u more of an insight through their experience. I can ask 4 u if that would help? -
@Claire__Ryan Actually, yes please. We've learned more from YouTube videos of adults with the condition, than anything else so far. Thanks! -
@C7RKY no probs! -
@Claire__Ryan Very kind of you Claire. Thank you for taking the time.. :) -
@C7RKY No probs! It's always better to ask the real experts tho!! -
@Claire__Ryan Beyond the experience with my son, I've had cause to dig under the surface of medical 'experts'. Don't trust any of them, None -
@Claire__Ryan Sorry, I should clarify - that wasn't a suggestion, but just my own perspective. *I* don't trust any of them... :) -
@C7RKY don't apologise! ur a caring parent too & we just want some good basic understanding for our kids & support 4 us! - 2 more replies
