Track Twitter 'mass mood' & help police to 'track potential criminal behaviour or threats to public safety'? Hmmm... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-24001692 …
@Peter_Kirkham Not for me it's not. This has a multitude of potential uses, which can stretch the limits of 'legitimate' too far if abused.

@C7RKY But how can you claim the police aren't able to look at what people post in complete public? That's just insane. -
@Peter_Kirkham Now, now Peter. Putting words in my mouth & calling me names for it at the same time is hardly cricket. I made no such claim. -
@Peter_Kirkham My concern is around how it might also be used in future, not just today. 'Mission creep' rarely ends well... -
@C7RKY But if its in the public domain it makes no difference - ANYONE can do whatever they like with it! -
@Peter_Kirkham Yes, anyone can, but not everyone can then arrest people, based upon results. It's a short step to include the 'inconvenient' -

@Peter_Kirkham I beg your pardon? Paranoid? I'm making a perfectly rational point about its potential uses, which you're failing to grasp. -
@C7RKY No mate. You're utterly misrepresenting what it is & what it could ever be used for. - 3 more replies
