I've only just noticed that when you abbreviate the Department of Health to DoH, it's only an apostrophe away from D'oh! How appropriate. :)

@C7RKY@legalaware I think that's part of unmet expectations of public: they don't realise law & morals are different (though often overlap) -
@Peter_Kirkham@legalaware That's because we make an assumption, which ought to be a reasonable one - that they should be broadly the same. -
@C7RKY@legalaware >law must apply equally to all & so should be based on non-moral considerations (harm to others primarily). -
@Peter_Kirkham@legalaware Has a ring of 'common law vs statute' debate we once had. Another one that touches on it > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTGi3h3Id1w&feature=youtu.be … -
@C7RKY@legalaware >from the Freeman of the Land stuff, John. It is absolute bollocks & based on total misrepresentation of legal history!) -
@Peter_Kirkham@legalaware My own interest is focussed around consent & autonomy, as you know Peter. I find this an interesting debate on a> -
@Peter_Kirkham@legalaware governance level, in which I see value, whatever the merits of 'freeman' argument. I'm one who resist imposition.

@C7RKY I think that's the problem - the general public (me included) have high hopes for the legal process. -
@legalaware Hopes which I suspect are oft dashed, when tested in reality. I eye the CJS with as much suspicion as the medical world now tbh. -
@C7RKY@legalaware Just reading about http://www.expressandstar.com/news/health/2013/08/23/inquiry-into-harassment-claim-by-stafford-hospital-protester-julie-bailey-ends/ … has confirmed my hopes for justice dashed again! -
@JoinedU1@legalaware Yes, saw that. Hard when you can't identify perpetrators. Although 'lack of evidence' headline is a little misleading.
