Our global police state's most prized 'self-monitoring' tool, Facebook, sets sights on further 4bn potential suspects http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323608504579025773163440460.html?mod=e2tw …

@C7RKY I'd like to think mere survival would be a higher priority for the world's poorest, but even they find mobile phones a necessity now. -
@paulrogers002 Who needs to insert a chip, when you can find a way to convince people to just carry it around for you anyway? :-/ -
@C7RKY Exactly so - and even pay for the 'privilege'. I remember in Libya--admittedly oil-rich in mid-2000s--everyone had 2-3 mobiles. -
@paulrogers002 Feels like it's merely a question of scale & pace of rollout now....#worrying -
@C7RKY You never know though - FB's business model seems to be a shambles lurching in all directions, crapping daily on its customers.. -
@paulrogers002 It was about drawing people in, getting them hooked & dumping the bad news later. Is it possible to recreate that pattern? -
@C7RKY Hm, if good news/truth is what gets imparted, it might be worth considering, but such manipulation always ends badly.
