Of course views all mine. All without prejudice. Just a regular chap after all. Oh...and RT's may equally imply ridicule as endorsement.

@paulrogers002 Some of the difference is undoubtedly regional. I also wonder how much has changed in attitudes over time too? And why...?

@C7RKY Well, at least he didn't end up kicked to death by police mob in precinct gym. Has happened to other cop-killers Stateside..

@C7RKY Shows deeper problem with US; substitution of lethal retribution for justice. Questions key to social peace can never be answered now

@paulrogers002 Justice is a concept which has proved quite elusive, in our own fair isle for me recently. No less elusive over the pond tho.

@C7RKY Worse; we don't have such recent history of slavery, which still distorts US society; gross confusion of race/class, justice for sale

@paulrogers002 Depends on your definition of slavery, which could make it very topical for us all, but I agree otherwise.

@C7RKY Chattel slavery: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/Chattel+slavery  I note even they include wage slavery as def.4; coerced prison labour also key US issue today

@paulrogers002 V much so. Did you ever catch that episode of QI where they raised prison labour as a question? The panel's faces said it all

@C7RKY I didn't, but indiscriminate, racist 'Jim Crow' laws key in America to substituting prison labour (chain gang) for chattel slavery.

@paulrogers002 Sounds like you've done homework on that? The key for me was numbers. The sheer scale of industry workforce, just 'captured'.

@C7RKY As ratio of population, US has most imprisoned in world; I think 1/4 Afro-Americans see jail in 'Land of the Free'.

@paulrogers002 It's shocking when you hear all the facts laid out like that, isn't it? Just instinctively feels wrong, before you even start
