@paulrogers002 Totally. And now this 'foaming at the mouth' attack on a doc who questions their science? Debate with him then, if he's wrong
@paulrogers002 We fundamentally want to trust, esp when it's about our health & we don't understand the speciality. That makes us vulnerable

@C7RKY Rise of (often mistaken..!) self-diagnosis courtesy of the Net has made patients a lot more confident and proactive though. -
@paulrogers002 For those with time & determination, I'd steer them towards NICE clinical guidelines & underpinning research. Doctors' rules! -
@C7RKY This is stuff that every potential patient really needs to know! -
@paulrogers002 Very much so. Most will get steered towards NHS choices. Has it's uses, but there are a LOT of things not detailed on there. -
@C7RKY I can imagine - wouldn't want to 'confuse' anyone, eh? With their rights or anything like that.. -
@paulrogers002 Haha! You should see how the concept of consent is twisted into a 'partnership decision'. Have to dig V deep to find reality! -
@C7RKY Hm - so what is a 'partnership decision' then? Doctor telling patient what to do? -
@paulrogers002 Exactly. Followed by patient accepting decision without challenge, 'in partnership'. It's an overlay, to disguise real rules. - 2 more replies
