@ShaunLintern
Surely you can't really think its a good idea to 'bribe' Trusts to implement the LCP? massive risk of being abused by some.
@ShaunLintern @heatherawwood Do you? I'm pretty clear on LCP - has its uses. But an incentivised plan can be abused to create income stream.

@C7RKY@heatherawwood But if you see it as a method of killing then paymenys appear to be bribery and suggest Gov conspiracy. -
@ShaunLintern@heatherawwood beds. I'm not sure I trust that, when 60k+ do it w/o any discussion with patient/relatives. Discussion is key. -
@C7RKY@heatherawwood Most recent National Care of Dying Audit found 97% of relatives were aware patient was dying. -
@ShaunLintern@c7rky@heatherawwood did they ask the relatives or rely on med notes? -
@katemasters67@C7RKY@heatherawwood I'm not sure of the methodology, would have to find report. Id assume it was a data audit. -
@ShaunLintern@katemasters67@heatherawwood That's quite important. And if we think these no.s don't get fiddled, when mortality rates do... -
@C7RKY@katemasters67@heatherawwood Mortality rates can be fiddled by a tiny minority. LCP would require 100s of staff. Not credible. -
@ShaunLintern@katemasters67@heatherawwood Yeah..ok Shaun. I think it requires 1 - the person signing off the submission. Bypasses the rest

@katemasters67@heatherawwood "offered a financial bonus to put three-quarters of patients deemed to be dying on the pathway" >DEEMED to be?

@C7RKY@heatherawwood If you accept LCP as good, best practice approach to end of life care then incentives to ensure adoption seem logical -
@ShaunLintern If clinicians in charge of NHS instead of unregulated managers led by Nicho would not need bribes to bring in good practice.
