As an NHS manager I was often thought by peers to be too close to patients & front line staff & there was me thinking I wasn't close enough
@Trevthered Should never believe you're close enough, always strive to get closer - don't ever let anybody tell you any different Trevor!

@C7RKY NEVER allowed anyone to change my management style John - always made time to listen to patients and front line staff -
@Trevthered It's the ONLY place in any organisation, where everything is supposed to come together & deliver. We MUST look there - always!! -
@C7RKY Amen to that Sir! -
@Trevthered At least have the decency to turn up at the stadium & watch a match every now & again? See if team's winning, what they need etc -
@C7RKY There are terrific managers in NHS who do it but many seem scared to listen to patients-to me it is simplicity and greatest education -
@Trevthered I fear there will be a direct link between those who don't listen, with those who fear hearing patients' views of their efforts.
