@heatherawwood And Mid Staff was also using Lean / Productive. Sorry for tweeting at you but press is not interested and hoping for advice.
@heatherawwood @danielsteenstra I've seen Lean & Six Sigma used in many situations for efficiency. Never once saw either measure compassion.

@C7RKY@heatherawwood Is that why NHS has to run Compassion courses for nurses? -
@danielsteenstra@heatherawwood I imagine so. Training just gives a base tho, it doesn't replace management & controls. Hard to measure too.

@C7RKY@heatherawwood#Lean is extremely customer (patient) focused - exactly the way to STOP dehumanizing staff and patients & give care -
@MarkGraban@c7rky I've no idea really Childishly I dislike anything called LEAN, being the opposite myself, and because it sounds jargon -
@heatherawwood@C7RKY Please be open minded about it then, since#Lean is way better than the way hospitals are traditionally run -
@MarkGraban@heatherawwood I'm not adverse Mark but like many tools, depends who's using it. Doesn't always produce the results it ought to. -
@C7RKY@heatherawwood Yes you are right. Using#lean tools in the old broken dysfunctional culture of blame and targets won't work. -
@MarkGraban@heatherawwood And that's not a small observation in this context. Changing those attitudes/people is a 1st step in any plan... -
@C7RKY@heatherawwood Yes and the hospital culture problem is found in many countries including the US -
@MarkGraban@heatherawwood medicine is so specialist, only doctors may judge other doctors on the subject. Not a great start for objectivity - 2 more replies

@C7RKY agree. big problem in health is it's hard to measure what matters. And overall ratings useless/misleading as hosps so complex. -
@heatherawwood I'd need to get into detail to comment knowledgeably, but neither patients or docs can claim objectivity, so bound to be hard
