If the EU collapses the British should demand a written constitution to protect themselves from govt. could be based on the US constitution.
@robbyyy What do we have at the moment then? Anything enshrining the independence of crown/gov/judiciary from one another? Not that it works

@C7RKY We have no real constitution & no protection from govt. We're not even citizens. Need a 1783 moment. EU breakup might be that moment. -
@robbyyy We have NOTHING? At all? Then what dictates how things work, apart from the 'say so' of those who happen to have seized power? Hmmm -
@C7RKY Thats the beauty of not having a written constitution. Those in positions of power can (pretty much) make it up as they go along. -
@robbyyy Christ. Paid no attention to politics until forced to recently in order to seek justice. Obviously I wasn't supposed to take notice -
@C7RKY We will need a major crisis before people wake up. Whoever wins the next election will be the last PM of the UK. The fix is on. -
@robbyyy I'm not sure what that perfect storm would look like, but there seem to be more than a few factors coming into play at the moment. -
@C7RKY Perhaps the perfect storm will be the EU. LibLabCon want in. Voters want out. The next PM will be last PM. Real end of nation stuff. -
@robbyyy Astonishing, but not unbelievable. Don't know if I'm more angry at myself for waking up so late, or others for still sleeping now! - 3 more replies
