Sue Adams, nurse and RCN steward, told #Francis 200 incident reports were found by a cleaner in Director of Nursing's bin at #MidStaffs

@C7RKY @JonDatix Exactly. The focus was lost on patients lives. -
@ShaunLintern I visited Mid Staffs in 06 as they were unhappy with their incidents software. They ended up staying with it though. -
@JonDatix That's interesting. Who did you meet?
-
@ShaunLintern Sharon Llewellyn and Mandy Gibbs. Told to look at Datix by Martin Yeates. Mentioned in Sharon evidence (not personally). -
@JonDatix Ah, interesting stuff. What did you make of the trust?
-
@ShaunLintern Took them a week to produce simple reports for meetings. Big problems with reporting to NPSA. -
@JonDatix Interesting, they sent 940 incident reports to NPSA between 05-09 all about staffing levels. Probably tip of iceberg then.

@C7RKY@ShaunLintern Many trusts still rely on paper reporting. Very labour intensive and can't keep track of issues in real time. -
@JonDatix
@ShaunLintern I'm no medical world expert, but shouldn't anything about risk to patient lives be in real time? -
@C7RKY@ShaunLintern I'm no expert either, but yes, it should! -
@JonDatix
@ShaunLintern Oh good... I was beginning to think it was me. Somebody needs their feet nailing next to patient beds to learn why.
