It’s good to be able to say to Outpatients
‘Your clinic letter will be with your GP before you have left the Hospital’.
It’s taken me 6 months hard work to achieve this and our GPs really appreciate immediate clinic Letters @ClareGerada @CathCalderwood1 @profchrisham

I pre-prepare Word Document the week before Clinic, update with patient during clinic, then use Dragon voice to text and letter wings off immediately to GP as a pdf and by
#RoyalMail to patient within 2 days. https://www.dropbox.com/s/320lzzu7crmhz60/Example%20OPD.docx?dl=0 …@PeteGordon68@rakeshspatel@TheIHI1 reply 4 retweets 5 likes -

Do you try to teach others to do this, and the other simple procedures you use? If so, do they appreciate it and follow suit?

It's a tall order to change the NHS one doctor at a time, but teaching what we know to others, who teach to yet more others is a better strategy than others I can think of.

The promotion of
#UroLift is an example of how Doctors are being influenced to conduct treatments based on inadequate biased research, reviews, education resources. You are not supposed to be sales reps. And now ‘Medical’ Cannabis Where are the double blind controlled Clinical Trials? The Safety Checks? The Quality Control of the many various and variable products? No Ethical Pharma company could get this through Med Regs without evidence from proper clinical trials ...

As someone with epilepsy who's child is disabled for life by valproate because Drs didn't tell me risk, I'd much rather take untested medical cannabis because it's been used for centuries and I have more trust in plants than the pills I'm currently given.

It’s the word ‘Medical’ in ‘Medical Cannabis’ I have a problem with, not the Cannabis word, with the implication it is as well researched, scientifically evidenced and quality controlled as eg amoxicillin

Here's one thing I can defend in the Dutch system for a change. One pharmacy in the Netherlands looks after dispensing cannabis oils to patients who've been prescribed it by their doctors. It's quality controlled and it really does help some people - unfortunately though, not me.

Just to clarify. Doctors here (Netherlands) prescribe cannabis oils for pain and for various conditions, but they don't prescribe it as a cancer cure, for the same reasons as in other countries.
