Of course views all mine. All without prejudice. Just a regular chap after all. Oh...and RT's may equally imply ridicule as endorsement.

Well said. I had to dismiss one doctor for altering the notes to blame the patient! Shocking

I agree Dr Caldwell that honesty is a core value. However, it's the dishonesty that follows a medical error that concerns me & many others. Being truthful about adverse clinical incidents & truly learning from them brings out compassion & forgiveness of those damaged & bereaved!

When Care has gone wrong being open & honest generally brings a calming effect & even sympathy & understanding from those harmed. But culture in UK Healthcare is still ‘Hide the notes from complainant, say sorry but give away as few facts as possible’ out of fear of litigation

Exactly. It's that culture we need to get rid of. Fear of litigation is no excuse for a lack of honesty. It is only right that the injured parties can get compensation if they want it but may are prepared to forsake it if there is honesty and learning.

Whilst some obviously have to pursue litigation in order to secure desperately needed compensation, in many cases it's the lack of honesty which CAUSES the litigation. Want to cut NHS litigation costs? Easy. Just be honest & stop defending the indefensible.

And potential defamation when staff attack person's character rather than fess up, allow closure & learning will drive people to litigation to prove their point & protect their good name/ character.

They'd much prefer to gaslight rather than take responsibility. That's becoming painfully apparent all round.

Can't understand why, when it becomes so obvious, they try to keep it up. We no longer sit trying to sort out a problem like this with a letter (pen & paper). Our resources now mean it can backfire. Damages others trust in them. Yet they have been so slow to catch on.Embarrassing

My take is that they do it because they can. Who stops them? It's only recently that the means to counter their narrative has become available to the public. And they hate it.

True but thing is there R a few people I would not want to appear smiling in a photo with now because that would damage my reputation more than anything they have written about me if it appeared in public. If by any chance there was risk of that I would have to make a run for it

Would be locked in the ladies with excuse of sudden bladder weakness. No fear of meeting these people but photo with them might give impression I am in league with them, or traitor to patients & too many have read evidence of what I know so I don’t have the excuse of being naïve.
