What do you think of the #DoctorsAreDickheads hashtag? People were really narked. It was if doctors are paragons of virtue & austerity cuts force them into making mistakes.

I've only just noticed it, so I've barely seen any of the detail tbh. But this online discourse between patients and clinicians has been building for a while now. This # is just likely to give it a new home. Albeit a slightly inflammatory one.

I think it's more than slightly inflammatory, it'll probably be seriously divisive. We can only sort this mess out when doctors and patients pool our efforts, resources and expertise.
#DoctorsAreDickheads is a cheap shot. -
It isn't. Doctors blame 'cuts', even when their catastrophic decisions are due to ineptitude.

You don't need to tell me. I'm bloody terminal because of medical negligence and unlikely to be tweeting far into 2019. But you can't reduce the complexity of healthcare down to "Doctors are Dickheads". It's facile.

I agree it's not the most helpful way to start a dialogue. (My previous 'slightly' was tongue-in-cheek). But I do see 1 possible side effect that might prove to be helpful - rarely do patients have a trending # around which to network. More of us will find each other as a result.

I wish there was a production company that had the guts to make a documentary about people/families, who have been let down by the
#NHS. -
Why not write down your (your father's) story, collect some more stories and go to a documentary maker? I've written a book about what happened to me in the Netherlands and found a publisher last week who's going to publish it. I expect it'll cause fury in the Dutch health system
