Of course views all mine. All without prejudice. Just a regular chap after all. Oh...and RT's may equally imply ridicule as endorsement.

Everybody wants a system that's safe. The only debate there is who is preventing progress. But current efforts are very much themed around uniquely securing immunity from GNM prosecution for doctors imho. Something I, as a member of the public, find to be objectionable frankly.

The distinction is doctors who intentionally set out to do harm and those that might do harm in the course of providing care to the best of their ability. The former should rightly be prosecuted. The latter need a more compassionate approach even if there are sanctions.

Sorry, but that's part of the myth that's built up since the #BawaGarba propaganda machine kicked in (belatedly). GNM doesn't require intent - that would make it murder. Manslaughter charges exist to recognise just such a lack of intent where gross negligence proves to be deadly.

No, I put it to you that a myth of evil is created to justify blame and extreme punishment for the obvioys cause- easier than facing the uncomfortable truth about a system set to fail.https://twitter.com/cjw450cathy/status/1054466730855153665?s=21 …

1/4 Stop and think about something close to home, a pot-plant for instance. You know the basic rules- water and feed regularly, place it in light/shade according to instructions. But it starts to wilt...

You put it to me? There's nothing comfortable about either option. And they're not mutually exclusive. The 'system' does need fixing, but mustn't be allowed to become the sole focus of blame just because it conveniently avoids individual accountability.https://twitter.com/c7rky/status/1053582542694244352?s=21 …

This is what happens when you allow 'the system' to take the fall. Learn not blame, eh? I agree, but likewise the other way too. There is far more a tradition of individual responsibility over communal or systemic, a direct product of Taylorism and ‘Scientific management’ from the early C20th.http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition/Taylorism.html …

I've not done a thesis on the subject or anything, but I can tell you that after 7yrs of this nonsense & encountering literally hundreds of others in the same boat, individual NHS blame doesn't appear obvious to us. A few replies here anecdotally agree:https://twitter.com/c7rky/status/1052201127574409216?s=21 …

There has been a tendency to blame the individual, says Prof Williams. Quick question to NHS complainants - did an individual get blamed when you complained? Or did they blame nobody (except perhaps you) and cover it all up? I don't recognise this so-called 'blame culture'.

Come inside, join the NHS, perhaps as a non-exec director, etc. Come & find out for yourself. You clearly have a lot to offer, experiences, intelligence, persistence, passion, desire to do the right thing. But don’t judge a system by its image, don’t judge from 1perseprive alone

You've no idea how much I'd love to do that, but there are 3 reasons I fear it'll never happen: 1. My unpredictable life responsibilities won't allow me. 2. No NHS trust would ever want me peeking behind their curtain. 3. I'd ignore any gag that came with my newfound WB status.
