Well I must say I'm surprised by the lack of interest in the HSC meeting today. I used to tweet all of them at one time and it always provoked loads of conversation, even on fairly benign agenda topics. Today was no benign topic, yet interest was surprisingly sparse.

I totally agree. Doctors have been & will continue to be protected by the State. What the med profession doesn't appear to understand is that patients accept we can all make mistakes. All we are asking is that they tell the truth & learn from their errors to prevent repitition!

Shouldn't be a big ask in the context of the doctor/patient relationship really, eh? Esp given the implied trust expected to inherently exist in that relationship.

Again I agree but history has shown that the majority of doctors do not tell the truth after causing the death of a patient. Criminals are shown leniency when they admit their crimes but longer sentences if they plead not guilty. The same would apply to grossly negligent doctors!
