Of course views all mine. All without prejudice. Just a regular chap after all. Oh...and RT's may equally imply ridicule as endorsement.

Well I must say I'm surprised by the lack of interest in the HSC meeting today. I used to tweet all of them at one time and it always provoked loads of conversation, even on fairly benign agenda topics. Today was no benign topic, yet interest was surprisingly sparse.

John, with greatest respect Select Committees are as effective as an ashtray on my Harley Davidson. They make recommendations that the gov either ignore or fail to adequately implement. The same issues re NHS cover ups are heard time & time again & decade in decade out. Sad fact!pic.twitter.com/IrGe48N95K

As a consequence of Robbie's perverse 1997 Court of Appeal ruling that doctors didn't have a legal obligation to tell us the truth about the child's negligent death the HSC set up an inquiry & recommended a statutory DoC in 1999. The gov just ignored it in it's formal response!

I provided written & gave oral evidence to HSC. They were made aware of the negligence leading to Robbie's death, the lies, the falsifying of the child's med records & the blatant NHS & Welsh Office cover ups. They couldn't investigate individual cases or send me to who could! :(

It's becoming obvious that gov simply ignoring inconvenient recommendations has been par for the course for a while. It's just that in this instance, I fear the recommendations won't be ignored. Because this time what's being proposed is about protecting doctors, not patients.

I totally agree. Doctors have been & will continue to be protected by the State. What the med profession doesn't appear to understand is that patients accept we can all make mistakes. All we are asking is that they tell the truth & learn from their errors to prevent repitition!

Shouldn't be a big ask in the context of the doctor/patient relationship really, eh? Esp given the implied trust expected to inherently exist in that relationship.

Again I agree but history has shown that the majority of doctors do not tell the truth after causing the death of a patient. Criminals are shown leniency when they admit their crimes but longer sentences if they plead not guilty. The same would apply to grossly negligent doctors!

I did listen to it John and here’s the question I asked @doctorcaldwell and his reply https://twitter.com/tinavikki85/status/1052208772515602432?s=21 … with the state of hospitals today I ask is it too easy for patients to be critical? Corruption does play a part as @sharmilaxx knows!

The session title was 'Patient safety & gross negligence manslaughter in healthcare', but the focus was predictably on the latter. I'm critical of attempts to undermine the law, (which accounts for circumstances), but not attempts to address system flaws.https://twitter.com/c7rky/status/1049233907311411200?s=21 …

You shamelessly misdirect readers on the facts of this case imho, in order to attempt to influence opinion and gain support for reforms which are designed to secure unjustified extra protections for doctors. I've had enough of it, frankly. #BawaGarba #BawaGarbage 8/8
