Given today's discussion at @CommonsHealth, can you tell me if you've ever appealed a decision made by @the_mpts, please @prof_standards? It seems you have the power, so have you ever used it?
Very helpful, thank you. May I ask what an 'ISG' is, as mentioned in this link? https://www.professionalstandards.org.uk/docs/default-source/disclosure---foia/bawa-garba-recommendation-and-manager-final-decision.pdf?sfvrsn=66b87220_2 … I'm also keen to understand how MPTS panels & their members are assessed as making decisions which are an accurate reflection of public opinion. Anything on that?

ISG = indicative sanctions guidance. On your second point, panel members are assessed by the regulators, that isn't part of our remit. However, when we share learning points with the regulators on FtP cases, we ask for them to be also shared with panel members.

Interesting. I hesitate to continue asking more questions because you've been so helpful already, (rarely do I give out brownie points), but it's for that very same reason that I want to keep asking you things! Perhaps just a couple more... :)

Given Prof Williams muted that GMC weren't happy with MPTS panel decisions, (to explain them wanting power of appeal), does that somehow imply GMC weren't happy with your (lack of) appeals? How've you determined a GNM conviction doesn't affect public confidence in the profession?

Hi John, happy to help where we can but the answers to those questions are long and rather too complex for Twitter. Could you email us?https://www.professionalstandards.org.uk/contact-us

Happy to do so, thank you once more. Top marks at appraisal time for whoever is behind today's
@prof_standards twitter activity!
