The patient has every right to see her/his notes. If there is information, in the notes, which defamatory, then there could be problems. What is it about the #NHS, which allows staff to withold information from patients?

There is also an unfortunate undertone .. I’ve seen Providers who subtly try to get patients to fill in a form that refers to being a request under the Access to Health Records Act WARNING: this is different legislation & not covered by ICO (
