Morning! Been a busy spell here, so twitter time hasn't had a look in I'm afraid. Still trying to get my head around my 8yr old needing a general anaesthetic just to have an MRI and take some bloods. Autism makes everything different. Sometimes good. Sometimes not so much.
What an excellent heads-up. Wouldn't have even considered that one - thank you! How to even go about arranging such a thing though? He has a dentist already who has referred him to an oral medicine consultant (rare beast, apparently). Should I involve them somehow?

If you can. Sometimes logistics overcome best intentions. Good luck.

I shall make enquiries. Thanks John - you're a star!

Can be done. We got ortho stuff sorted for G while under for neuro. Mind you, be prepared to wear your Super-Diplomat pants thin. We got everything organised & then the clerking junior anaesthetist on day hadn't read *all* the memos. Got very cross/shouty when we said "Recheck".

Well if it's possible, then it's well worth the effort. I'm all for cramming in as many distressing experiences as possible into a time when he won't have to know about them. As long as it doesn't prolongue the GA too much, of course!
