If there's one thing I know about @nw_nicholas, it's that he's not daft. I'm sure he can discern the right thing to do for himself, whether from the likely computer-generated letter he received, from the Cochrane review, or from a healthcare professional. He's a big boy.
Eh? That's a bit of a leap. Some things prove their worth by virtue of their performance in the subsequent 'big trial' - public release. Other don't. Vioxx springs to mind.http://www.theweek.co.uk/us/46535/when-half-million-americans-died-and-nobody-noticed …

Though even the seemingly most bulletproof examples I've noticed being questioned by some. "Which begs this question, what is the value of this polio-free certification when nearly 50,000 children fall prey to polio-like flaccid paralysis every year?" >https://www.thehindu.com/opinion/op-ed/is-india-actually-free-of-polio/article7945687.ece …

I think the answer to your point is in the article itselfpic.twitter.com/z9EC7ZNgXA

Appreciated. The point's not really mine but the author's. It's not an area I've personally researched. I just draw attention to the fact that questions are being asked. I presume only the vaccine can cause VDPV, even if it is also held up as the solution? My overall point stands
-
And is your overall point that you don’t believe that vaccination has made any improvement to public health?
-
What? I think you're just being purposefully antagonistic now. Read back if you want to gain a better grasp of my overall point.
-
I apologise if I’m coming across that way. I’m just curious to know your views on vaccinations
-
My view is that medical science is an oxymoron when it comes to clinical trials and vaccines are as much exposed to being affected by that as any other drug.
-
What ‘evidence’ would you use?
