1) Whilst waiting to hear back from Neil @neilgchurchill about how the NHS might take forward the issue of NHS bodies treating patients, families & whistleblowers as if they are 'vexatious', I have received a further protocol from the CQC

In my experience if the CQC had the remit/authority they would do a better job than the PHSO and feckless local teams such as "safe gaurding". Not a high bar to set but it would be progress.

1) Hmmm CQC spent at least £273,908 on inspecting

#FTSU 2) But CQC managed to 'miss' hundreds of un-investigated deaths, which were discovered by the#Mazars deaths review not long after Is CQC actually motivated to do its best for the public, or does it prioritise pleasing its political masters?https://twitter.com/alexander_minh/status/753535430507847681 …

CQC@ "we don't investigate individual cases". Erm, how can you know it's individual, if you are not investigating *any* individual cases...
-
All part of the plan. They don't investigate, just 'include it in their thinking for the next inspection'. An inspection they warn trusts about, allowing them to prepare in advance to ensure nothing untoward will be seen on the day. Box ticked, nothing to see here, all is well.

I see you're familiar with the letter, too. :-) Three years it took me to draft a letter to the CQC, and it was just brushed aside with "we'll let the inspector know, we might do something, or we might not".

I've seen a LOT of them, I'm afraid. Not just my own. It's their standard procedure - pretending to be a regulator.

$64,000 question: What's the way to counter it? :-)
