I often speculate on your current interactions with the profession John.

Interesting to hear Paul. Intrigued... what impressions were you left with?

Hard to telll. I expect rebuilding trust itself is very tough. As James Spence said, the basis of medicine is when a patient who is ill sees a doctor who he trusts. This is the consultation and all else in medicine comes from this. Likely for you the operative word is ‘trust’.

100% spot on. The key change in me has been the sad loss of a lifetime spent trusting all doctors by default. And I was a BIG fan. But doctors have now been relegated in my mind to the same level I apply to everybody else in life - trust is earned. One individual at a time.

Good to hear that. So true. Honesty is what's needed. Then we can build trust. This is what makes care safer.
