Of course views all mine. All without prejudice. Just a regular chap after all. Oh...and RT's may equally imply ridicule as endorsement.

My pleasure- can usually turn my patients frowns upside down when they are having a bad day. Its a skill you cant teach in a university like many others lacking today sadly

So, so true. It's not just about passing exams, it's a vocation. Or at least it used to be. Not sure all view it the same way any more tbh. Sadly.

Wonder what it must feel like to know that, no matter how disgracefully you behave, you will be protected to the nth degree?

I'm no psychologist, but we know kids learn boundaries by having them enforced. They push and push until they're stopped. If nobody stops them, they carry on and think it must be ok. I can only imagine that the unacceptable can become normalised when consequences are absent.

There's only one thing that will stop them, but we're not there yet. Francis warned of a 'tsunami of anger' heading towards the NHS after Mid Staffs. It's building, but we've a long way to go before any tipping point is reached I'm afraid.

with trusts like SPH who are bigging themselves up with the locals while only getting a 'requires improvement' from the CQC. I certainly wouldn't want to be patient there with the staffing issues they have. Family at least have me...not sure i'd want me looking after me though..

Its a pre P2K(Ortho) nurses know best mentality for patients who need cajoling through their recovery. Give patients choice isn't 'always' in their best interests.... Mum hated getting out of bed, nurses allowed her not to. she didn't get away with it with me. If only 2Coffeeshop

Oh I totally agree with that. Had similar experience with my grandparents. We soon learned that my grandad would go walking if you made him fetch his own newspaper and grandma would allow a DN to wash her once it became a condition to getting her evening sherry! :)

That was down to my parents caring for them at home. They'd have happily sat and vegetated in front of the TV until they died (soon) if my mum hadn't got creative with her thinking. :)
