Well, he may have been MIA on the day Jack died, (in more ways than one), but he wasn't missing at the trial. He was giving evidence. Evidence I'd like to be able to read. All of it. We don't know what the prosecution presented against her, or the defence presented in mitigation.

Maybe if we did, it would become obvious as to why the jury convicted her? Maybe even obvious as to why the judge refused her leave to appeal? I'm confused by how one can appeal conviction having been refused leave to do so tho. That's beyond my grasp of our legal system so far.
