Not when some try to push forward proposals, which if had been in place years ago, would have resulted in making money out of my dead family? Now I am reading about allegations of someone lying about setting up WBUK ?#Trustgone Minimalising these issues is not on.

If a bounty system had been in place, and that encouraged staff at Darenth Valley Hospital to speak up and expose the lack of Doctor’s on duty over a weekend, and my family member had not died as a result. I wouldn’t have cared about their motivation.

I am very sorry for your loss Paul. That is very sad. But people spoke up at Stafford, lots of people, without being offered money The issues are not just about speaking up, it's about lots of other things too, which is why I am supporting Minh & Claire's evidence based work. X

The problem is people not listening, not people not speaking. If anyone can manage to get society to listen, then those who don't speak will join those who already do.

I think a lot of people are certainly listening and have been for decades.People don't always want to hear news though, which is why there needs to be legal reform. For example everyone was listening and knew it wasn't safe to drink & drive, but it took legislation to stop deaths

Another approach to
#NHS investigation generally appears to be investigating an *area* of the concern, but not alleged criminal areas. The NHS org has therefore fulfilled a duty to investigate, (albeit poorly) which police rely on, instead of conducting their own investigation.4 replies 13 retweets 12 likes -

Absolutely right. The trust fold on some minor point which seemingly always 'made no difference to the overall outcome' (hmmm) and deny/ignore the main complaint entirely. CQC/PHSO/GMC all failed to act on the criminal aspect with us. Police can be heavily influenced by that.

Thus far, the only thing that the PHSO have conceded is that the Trust should have liaised with the surgery about my complaint instead of telling me to do it myself. That's probably enough to count as an 'uphold' in the stats.

They're really only geared up to deal with administrative complaints - and it shows. They love to uphold those cases almost as much as a GMC tribunal faced with a whistleblower. Helps the cumulative stats, as you suggest. Just don't ask them to uphold anything serious!
