No-one is an island, we all rely to some extent on what and who is around us to support us to be the best we can be. But it seems that gaining a Medical degree means automatic ‘Island’ status, no right to a supportive network to do a good job anymore- you’re on your own
In other words- Medical degree=no right to be human in law or public’s eyes
It’s not usually news that unsupported juniors on understaffed rotas kill people, especially when working with broken computers and poor systems. What’s unusual here is that the profession cares that a consultant is doing nicely in Ireland while the junior nearly went to jail.
