Are they notificatons to your phone, u can just stop them.

No, I took some very good advice and turned those off several months back - made a big difference. But the downside is it means I have no clue when they're building so dramatically in the background. Can be a bit of a shock to return to an unexpected deluge as a result. :)

I just have notifications switched on on my phone for DMs.
-
Interesting. Hadn't noticed the option to distinguish when I made the change. Are you on an iPhone or another platform?

I have mine turned off completely. I see what I see when I have time
-
I think I may have arrived rather suddenly at that point too. All seemed to be swinging along nicely for a while there, but something changed.pic.twitter.com/2MNZ32sTAV

I only look at mentions, not likes too
-
try lists, at least for keeping up w/key ppl. I have lists for everything & check them when I am time starved (not today obvs

). Or when news is vile and all I want is funny ppl and cats
-
Yes, I've never done that. Some people seem a bit averse to being added to lists, so I avoided it. Maybe time for a rethink. Tbh, I just wish I had time to respond to some of the absolute boll***s I'm having to let go by. So many misguided comments, so little time...
-
I wld never add anyone who objected (tho they shld see it as a compliment) and as for bollocks on Twitter, it is impossible to challenge everything & the purblind don't listen anyway! I prefer dialogue w/the open minded

Turned mine off. Some font want to comment when the debate is on going, plenty to say when it goes quiet.
-
Me too. But still there when I return. And yes... some folk get very chatty when they think it's safe to avoid immediate retort.
