I was going to reply with something along those lines, but you beat me to it. :) Key point for me is that it's possible to be personally grossly negligent in one's own actions, regardless of any exacerbating flaws around them. Which is what the courts decided.

In Scotland without intent to do harm there wouldn’t be a prosecution for healthcare staff. There are long lists of medics who have been criminally convicted for their wilful & reckless behaviour. The medical community stands behind Dr BG for a reason

No. Intent. Take it out of healthcare and apply to all those within the criminal justice system. We place our belief in a fair judicial system and try to minimise any miscarriages if justice. Self-preservation applies to all of us under these circumstances

All of the healthcare workers with a cold & complete disregard for the bereaved families. The level of care & attention jack received was appalling. If every conviction is challenges as being 'wrong' the

I guarantee that BG is devastated beyond measure about what happened and has reflected every moment since, wishing things had been done differently. She will carry it with her forever. The fact is though, until the systemic issues are reviewed, it could happen again 2/2

I'm with Jack's mother who will know every detail intimately. If BG is reinstated what message does this sent to service users about the standards that the NHS are willing to accept? It paints an awful picture & will erode public trust in services provided.

This whole situation is heartbreaking. For everyone concerned. I think with all due respect it is difficult to keep any objectivity for anyone who has lost someone in this way. Better to examine the whole system like

Better for whom though? Look what's come out of all this - safe space proposals that horrify most battle-weary NHS complainants who know the reality of NHS cover-ups & an attempt to change GNM laws to make it harder to prosecute HCPs. It's all going 1 way - the wrong way for pts.

@MartinBromiley,@UKSepsisTrust - better for patients after devastating consequences for individuals & families. Not saying there weren't things done poorly by BG, but all previous reports say she was a conscientious doctor - doesn't that raise questions about circumstances?1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes

Appreciated, though I got the impression most saying that appeared to be former colleagues, so not entirely objective. And I don't just blame a single person here btw, but rather than typing it all out again, hope this thread helps explain my perspective:https://twitter.com/c7rky/status/1024285862635417601?s=21 …
