I believe overstretched that day e.g. it’s been stated #BawaGarba solo had 70 ill children in 3 locations, had to do an LP on a baby for possible meningitis simultaneously with managing Jack’s case which was enough for one Doctor with only Jack’s case to manage

So why not in those circumstances get PICU or the on call Consultant involved? Being a patient brings a totally different perspective.

I am told on call Consultant was 10s of miles away. That was an Organisational Failing and way beyond
#BawaGarba’s control. In a strong (paediatric) team someone like the Senior Sister would have called PICU if she had concerns for the child and thought Reg was not doing well3 replies 1 retweet 1 like -

Why was her consultant not there? In the *same* hospital, there would be 2 consultants looking after acutely ill *adult* patients from 8am to 5pm on site, all other commitments cancelled, 7 days per week.

He was in Warwick, I think its in the SUI, though the SUI also said there were no staffing issues...which was nuts, given 1 of the recommendations was ..

I worked at the LRI for years. No consultant physician would have been outside the city when on call without arranging cover, utterly unacceptable.

Some of the relevant parts of the SUI...note not put in front of the
#BawaGarba jury (this also happened in#DavidSellu) ..even though there are errors in the SUI...I really struggle to see why a jury should not see the SUIpic.twitter.com/jXgVo83jXe

Much much harder in
#BawaGarba as ultimately was convicted & appeal turned down.MUCH more clear cut in#davidsellu where he went to prison & convict overturned at appeal & no action nor compensation on this...Some should face charges of perjury in my viewhttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3174741/A-scalpel-hospital-buried-evidence-clear-surgeon-jailed-patient-s-death-40-year-exemplary-career.html …3 replies 2 retweets 6 likes -

You can also remove a newborns bladder instead of a hernia and have it deemed 'misconduct'. Can you imagine the double blow that that family felt. Your baby needs surgery, then the "we're very sorry but...".
